About the Webinar

The second NSWR/FORSA webinar invites participants to explore current and future developments in social work and the potential gap between professional expectations and practice realities.

Particular attention will be given to two closely related themes:
• the professional development of social work students; and
• the role of theoretical and research-based knowledge in social work education and practice.

The webinar is built around a panel discussion among invited speakers sharing their research findings on the topic and an open discussion between the panelists and the participants.

The panel speakers are: Merete Monrad (Denmark), Catrine Torbjørnsen Halås (Norway), Pia Tham (Sweden) and Helena Blomberg (Finland).

The webinar is hosted by Marina Snipsøyr Sletten, Chair of FORSA Norway, Associate Professor, Østfold University College and Monika Allgurin, Editor-in-Chief, Nordic Social Work Research,
Professor, Jönköping University.
